Connecting your MP3 player

You can transfer songs from your library to a portable MP3 player. iTunes works with several players. For the latest information, visit the iTunes Web site.

Connect the player to your computer with the USB cable that came with the player. After a moment, the player appears in the source list. Drag songs to the player in the source list. You can drag from the library or from a playlist you've created. Your player may have other options. Click the Options button in the upper-right corner to access the additional settings, if any. Additional buttons at the bottom of the window may also appear. On Mac OS 9, choose Show Balloons from the Help menu, then point to a button to learn what it does.

When you're transferring songs to your player, be sure that your computer does not go to sleep.
